Dorothy Udeme Ufot, SAN is the Founding and Managing partner of Dorothy Ufot & Co, a leading law firm in Nigeria specialising in litigation, oil & gas, arbitration, enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, investment consulting and corporate/commercial law, where she heads the International Arbitration and Litigation departments of the firm. Dorothy Ufot & Co is listed among the GAR 100 Specialist Arbitration Law firms in the world for 2013 and 2014.
Dorothy is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and a Chartered Arbitrator. She is a Member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris (since 2006) and a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration & ADR.

Dorothy was appointed one of the 8 global vice-chairs of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, in Paris effective 1st January, 2014.

She is a former Vice-Chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee. Dorothy is on the panels of arbitrators of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA), the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the Lagos Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (LRCICA), and the International Energy Arbitrator’s List.

Dorothy has acted as counsel in several high profile litigation involving major Nigerian Banks and other local and foreign parties. She has also acted as an arbitrator in several complex high volume arbitrations in oil & gas, international construction projects, dredging Contracts, infrastructure developments projects, joint ventures projects, telecommunications, international supply contracts and financial services, to mention a few.

Dorothy has consecutively been ranked by the International Who’s Who of commercial arbitration since 2009 as one of the world’s leading experts in international commercial arbitration.

Dorothy is a member inter alia of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the ICC Institute Of World Business Law in Paris, the Nominations Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), to mention a few.

Dorothy has recently been appointed by the IBA leadership as the co-chair of the IBA Africa Arbitration Group which was constituted at the just concluded 2014 IBA Annual Conference in Tokyo, Japan.
